Ever use a
laptop perched on your legs? Ever do while wearing shorts? Ever do it
with an Apple Titanium PowerBook? Those suckers get hot.
Putting a pillow between your bare thigh and all that hot electronica is
no good, because while it may make your legs feel better, after awhile
your computer's going to start to sufficate.
Thankfully, Lapworks has put a
stop to the madness with their Laptop Desk and Laptop Desk Ensemble.
The Laptop Desk is a hinged plastic laptop stand that can be folded over
for desktop use (sitting as an adjustable wedge-shaped platform between
computer and desk) or extended flat for use on, yes, your lap. The Desk
has integrated airflow channels to let your laptop breathe, and the
Plus, they've got the
coolest slogan this side of "Read my lips ... No new taxes." -- "No more
hot leg!"
The Lapworks Laptop Desk Ensemble is a three-piece
system designed to help you use your PowerBook, iBook, or other laptop
comfortably whether you're working at a desk, on a plane, or in bed. The
ensemble consists of the Laptop Desk v.2.0, Laptop Desk MouzPad, and
Laptop Desk SwivlPad, all of which are available separately (but not
with the letter "e," apparently) from Lapworks, as well. Purchasing the
components as an ensemble will save you about ten bucks (the Desk alone
is $29.
