The staff writers at the Aussie magazine PC Authority have posted a slightly tongue-in-cheek (I think) feature entitled ¶32 Reasons why PCs are Better than Macs,¾ presumably calculated to be flame-bait from the Apple fanboy contingent. What saves this piece from being a typical bit of anti-Apple innuendo is that the writers invited colleagues from MacUser magazine to provide some counterpoint at the end of the article, and also tacked on an in-depth guide to running Windows on a Mac, allowing you to reap the benefits of both platforms, but it still recycles a lot of boilerplate stereotyping and clich parroting. In addition to the new enclosure, the MacBook has a new glass trackpad with MultiTouch and incorporated button capability (ie, no button).

Apple includes an integrated Nvidia GeForce 9400M graphics processor with 256MB VRAM for much better graphics capability. The new MacBook also sports a new Mini Display Port. Finally, the 13" display is a Glossy Display - no matte finish.

The new aluminum 13" MacBook is available today at The Apple Store in two configurations:

Apple updated the 13" MacBook Air today with some of the technology introduced in the 15" MacBook Pro. Nvidia GeForce 9400M integrated graphics are now included, a 120GB hard drive is offered on the base model, and Apple is including their new Mini Display Port. A 120GB SSD option is available, and CPUs include 6MB L2 cache. Price points remain the same. The base MacBook Air is available today at The Apple Store for $1799. The 1.8GHz/128GB SSD MacBook Air sells for $2499 and will be available in November.

Finally, the 15" display is a Glossy Display - no matte finish.
