Apple releases new and updated iPods

Apple released new and updated iPods today for the 2008 holiday shopping season. Available and in stock today at The Apple Store:

- 120GB iPod classic in Silver or Black: $249

- 8GB ($229), 16GB ($299) and 32GB ($399) iPod touch, thinner with integrated volume knob on the side and a speaker

- 8GB ($149) or 16GB ($199) iPod nanos

The nanos come in nine different colors (nano-chromatic as they're called), including silver and black, but no white model. The nano is thinner and taller with a tall display. Flip the nano on its side, and the display becomes a widescreen display. Several enhancement to the UI, and the inclusion of an accelerometer, include the ability to shuffle songs when you shake the iPod. The 16GB models should be in stock by this coming weekend.
